The story

The final step in the 924/944 line, the 968 pushes the four-cylinder to its peak: 3.0 litres, 16 valves, VarioCam and 240 bhp. At the time, the largest production four-cylinder in the world.

Built in fewer than 13,000 units, elegant and rigorous, the 968 has become one of the most sought-after transaxles — the lightened Club Sport version is outright cult.

At ER Auto, the rarity of the 968 makes every used part precious: when new is gone, careful dismantling is the only route left.
