The story
Unveiled at the Frankfurt show in 1963, the 911 was at first no more than a replacement for the 356. Sixty years on, it is the most recognisable sports car in the world — and the reason ER Auto has a Porsche aisle at all.
Air-cooled flat-six hung out the back, a flyline unchanged in principle, German build quality: the classic 911 (up to the 3.2 G-model of 1989) is today the most sought-after classic in Europe. Its original parts — lights, chrome, VDO gauges, engine hardware — grow scarcer every year.
