The story

Born of the marriage between Volkswagen and Porsche, the 914 was looked down on for years. Mid engine, removable targa top, origami styling: it looked like nothing else — least of all a 911.

Time proved it right. Exceptional chassis balance, a dependable flat-four, and the growing rarity of the six-cylinder 914/6: the 914 is today one of the most endearing ways into the Porsche world. It was in fact the car, in orange, on ER Auto's old website.

At ER Auto, we love its mechanical simplicity and the parts it shares with the wider VW family — which makes its own panels (bonnets, targa tops, lights) no less precious.
